My birthday is coming up next month. My husband has never been very good at planning things, so I have decided to take matters into my own hands. The last few birthdays have been disappointing, and last year was a disaster. I had one friend talking about all the abuses he received as a child. I had another friend make fun of me because I like to ride my bike for site seeing (as opposed to competing in races). Two people almost got into a fight. We sat around and talked (argued) and overate. I left in tears before they even cut the cake.
My friends want to get together with me, but I need to have a plan. If we are all going to be together, we need to do something besides sit around and eat and talk.
I’d like to brainstorm about some things to do that would be fun! I thought about getting a birthday package at the bowling alley or the hockey game, but I would like to hear some ideas from other people. Most of my friends are between the ages of 45 – 60 and most are fairly active. We’re in Michigan, so it’s COLD outside already. Please send me some ideas or thoughts!
