So, apparently my Sunday was a little to fun packed and hectic and I sadly missed updating my blog... Well I will have to make up for it ( I may attempt a second post later today ) Anywho, I tripped a little yesterday but not to the point of falling... So much temptation at the family reunion yesterday, it was absolutely crazy! The standard pot luck (everyone bring as much food as possible and then eat as much as possible) happened as it does every year.... Everything from KFC/Popeye's, Ham and cabbage, macaroni casseroles, bean casseroles, broccoli onion and cheese salad (absolutely amazing!), hot dogs, meat balls, pie, cake, muffins, brownies, etc etc etc.. I could go on for another page about what kind of food temptations I had in front of me... A buffet to my yesterself... I indulged a little but I feel I made a huge step forward! I had no breads (my favorite thing normally is to stack up on rolls and fill them with ham and anything else that will fit between...) I left the beans, macaroni and like casseroles on the table intact. I had small portions of the ham, broccoli and cheese salad, a meatball, and a bit of potato salad. I put no desserts on my plate (took small nibbles off of my wife's brownie and cake but not enough to totally equal up to a whole portion of anything) I also took a Mio with me and a bottle of water (refilled at the water fountain) to skip the sodas and sweet tea :o) all in all it was a serious disaster avoided by semi-smart food choices and will power! I honestly impressed myself for not loading up a couple plates and chowing down and giving the "cheat day" excuse!
I did end up cheating a little later in the day when my Father in Law was passing around a bag of candy... took a couple pieces and did a little social snacking (tootsie pop, warhead, and a box of DOTS) but I could have had a lot more and I didn't! :o)
Today is an off day from work and instead of sitting in front of a TV watching movies and snacking I've been moving around cleaning the house and organizing things. I also took the time to do the Abs shredder with stability ball workout twice.
I don't remember if I mentioned it before but I'm adding a goal to do the Abs shredder 10 minute workout to my morning routine EVERY single morning before work or whatever I plan on doing. If my main focus is on my Gut then I need to do something other than Ride a bike, Life weights and eat smart. The Gut will go down with time without the Abs workouts but why not help gain muscle and speed up the process!? Every pound of muscle gained is another 32-64 calories burned daily just being there... :o)
Today I started off with my protein shake, the whites of a hard boiled egg and my pills followed by my Abs Shredder work outs. Lunch will be an absolutely delicious spinach and ham salad that I cannot wait to try! Dinner will probably be a little on the "cheat" side but through online investigation I can keep it within limits as long as I get in some evening sweat time. We will be having a Domino's Deep Dish Pizza. Instead of eating 4 slices and a 2 liter of coke along with wings and possibly a domino's sub (gross right?! the amount of food not the sub lol) I'll have my Mio water and 2 slices of pizza :o)
