Patterns and Practices

Monday, October 08, 2012

We all have patterns that keep us from operating at our full potential. Our awareness typically shines light on them after the fact when we’re left wondering, “How did I get here again?”

Well, let’s see. We know the subconscious mind drive

s > 90% of our thoughts, actions and reactions. This means that roughly 1 in 10 of our thoughts and actions are conscious. And since the pace of life allows little room for reflection, most of the time we don’t even notice.
Hmmm, I guess it’s no wonder that our unconscious patterns run the show.

This is precisely why we need daily practices that keep us connected to our lives. Through self-awareness we empower ourselves with the ability to deliberately choose our actions, dissolve unhealthy patterns and create the life we want.

This is how we get good at living!

So make time to pause and reflect each day, see and celebrate the highlights and learn from your experiences

No one remains what they are, when they recognize their true self!

It's been on the agenda for awhile to get back to a few of my daily practices I haven't been doing. Time to get on that. Thanks for the connection to why it feels so good to have them and why it's important.

I just read a blog by ONEKIDSMOM about discernment and finding some time daily to think about ourselves, our actions and other things. Then immediately after read this one that also talks about taking time to reflect and learn and spend some time with ourselves. How amazing and definitely a message I needed today!
