Wow..It's October already.

Monday, October 08, 2012

So, I have finally recovered (I type that with a little fear that I may relapse) from the intestinal parasite that I picked up while out of the country. It has been a week since my last symptoms and two weeks since my last dose of medication. It took almost two months to get rid of it (if in fact it is gone) and more than 6 months to correctly diagnose it. I had to drop a class (down to part-time instead of full time) and cut back on my hours at my two jobs. It was pretty tough.

And, of course, I have not lost any weight throughout this ordeal, eating whatever kept me from getting sick and avoiding lots of fruits and veggies. I also did not work out much because strenuous physical activity when you have stomach problems doesn't work too well. I want to start back on a healthy eating plan and today is my first real day back. (I did try to follow my plan last week to see how my body reacted, but only partly).

My goals are pretty simple for this month:
-Eat within the 1200-1500 calorie range.
-Get at least one fruit in a day.
-Continue probiotic treatment.
-Get my daily fish oil and multi-vitamin.
-Eat one salad a day (or veggie plate) as lunch or dinner.
-Weigh-in every Monday.

In November I want to begin to incorporate exercise (since I have a gym membership!)
