It's not pretty...

That's right folks, it's not pretty. Stepped on the scale and was up 10 pounds.

WHAT?! emoticon

But instead of giving up this time, I'm making a difference. I'm re-committing to SP. I just set my computer to Spark as my homepage, I am changing my desktop background to something motivational, and I'm putting myself on a water challenge week. I need to get back to the basics, so this is it.

I'll need some cheering on. So I'm depending on my sparkbuddies for that extra motivation. So I'll be checking my blog... and I also commit to doing some "visiting" as I check out your blogs and build my support ring around me.

    It's better to face the scale and make some changes than to ignore it! Think of the advantage you have making changes now rather than in a few months when you could have been up 20 lbs instead of 10! Congrats on recommitting; a year from now, you'll be glad you started today! You can do it!

    In May my cardiologist added a beta blocker to my meds. I immediately started gaining weight while keeping my calories between 13-15,000 and walking an hour a day most days. I gained 15 pounds in 5 months. I called him a couple of times telling him what was happening but he felt it was not the meds. Finally I researched the beta blocker I was taking in depth and lo and behold it does cause weight gain. The Mayo article suggested an alternative, I convinced my cardiologist to try it, and in the last week I lost 4 pounds with no decrease in calories or increase in activity. Lesson, sometimes there really is another reason for that weight gain. Take a close look at what is going on and see what you can change. emoticon

    I fell of the wagon and went rolling down the hill into the raviine months ago. I, too, have come to the place where I must stop this madness and rededicate myself, in the most basic and simplest way to becoming healthier again.

    I was up last night too...10 pounds. Yuch! But it will come off....I've been on a trip and it's travel bod...I'm back on schedule this week and will get it off. Just keep Sparkin'!!

    I found your blog thru Cheri. She is sure you can do this and so am i!!!! All your buds ARE with you and cheering you on. Now the hard part is for you to believe in yourself and just do it. We're all here for you should you need us.
