This morning I woke up and got to work on my dictations for school. Had a minor melt down when my computer decided to crash. So I ate lunch and my mood improved, gee I wonder if there is a connection? Then we noticed that there wasn't much bread in the house so the oldest child unit made bread for me while I continued to slog through my homework. Then my computer misbehaved again so I went to play on Facebook (I know bad example). Then I rebooted and went back to doing my school work. When my browser locked up on me at 4:30 that was it, I packed it in for the day.
When I said I was done hubby told us all to get dressed. Yes it has been a lazy day and at 4:30 in the afternoon we were all still in our jammies. I thought he was going to hop in the car and go for dinner somewhere. Nope, he surprised us all by just walking around town. Checked out the new store on the main drag and then went to our favourite restaurant for dinner. As we had no plans for a "real" Thanksgiving dinner with extended family 3 of us got the turkey dinner on special and the other got the salmon fillet. I have left over turkey dinner in the fridge now.
Going to spend the rest of the night enjoying some down time, everyone playing their own video games or surfing the net and then later we are going to sit down and see the new Jeff Dunham special. We saw him live in March and were his "guinea pigs" for his halloween material, so it will be fun to see how much of it actually went into his final act and how much was left out. We had to imagine the puppets dressed in the costumes he described and amazingly in the ads we have seen they are pretty much what I expected.
I am feeling better about my school in some ways and worse in others. I have now officially passed my first proficiency exam (100% on the theory test, 94% average on the dictations, needed minimum 90% on both). I am still frustrated when it comes to my dictations because of the fact that it is a new curriculum and the school is still working out all the bugs in the system. I have come across a few items I think are errors in the answer keys and it is kind of disheartening to know that they didn't roll out the new system as smoothly as they should have. I have found a great support group on Facebook for students of the program so at least I have a place to vent where others understand my frustrations.
I hope everyone has had a great weekend so far. Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow Canadians
. Happy Columbus Day to those in the US.
