I did not train last week until Saturday! By Wednesday, I was going through withdrawals!!!
I was sick at the beginning of the week, and deadlines at work kept me from the Box after that. I never want to go that long between training sessions again!
It's not like I did not exercise all week...I did. I walked 4 miles one day and did Zumba on the other days. But it was NOT the same. After my 1st 2 months of CF, my old standbys seem like strolls in the park now.
So needless to say, I was thrilled to go back to the Box on Saturday. But boy, my conditioning had started to deteriorate.
On Saturday, we did one of the benchmark WODs (workouts of the day) -- Helen. Helen consists of 3 rounds for time of:
21 KB swings (55#/35#)
12 Pull ups
Benchmark WODs show up at least a couple times a year. The goal is to surpass your previous score each time you complete a benchmark. Since this was my 1st time doing Helen, my goal was to get a baseline time. So, in 3-6 months when Helen shows up again, I should be stronger and should be able to shave off time from my baseline time -- which should be easy since my finishing time was 19:50...and that is with scaling (modifying) my pull ups. The running and pull ups did me in! My goal for the next time Helen comes up is to shave at LEAST a minute off my time...if not two!
