So my "challenge" today on Spark Coach was to shake up or mix up my fitness routine to get better results. We all know I am a fitness queen, so a bit of a shake up may make a difference in my weight loss efforts. There are a few things I wil not change b/c they bring me much pleasure and that is my weekly dance classes. I will continue to take belly dance twice a week. The thing is that I am going to a different teacher, 2 different teachers in fact, so my routine has been altered somewhat anyhow. The other thing I will not change is my Curves Workout, but there too I have made the change. I'm now doing the Curves Smart Workout plan which intensifies my workout as I advance in my range of motion and speed. As I improve, the program automatically makes my workouts harder. I like that I changed to Curves Smart alot. I am getting a much more intense workout in a place that I love! I will also continue to walk at least 1 mile a day and by that I mean a fitness walk. I can always change up what videos I use or the speed of the music that I use to time my walks.
So, how will I shake up my fitness program? Well, I found a pretty good DVD whith a good instructor on pilates. She explains everything fairly well so I can follow. So, I'm going to make pilates part of my life. I also got a Tai Chi DVD, but it is not as explanatory as I had hoped, so we'll have to see. After I get a feel for what they are talking about in pilates I will probably start classes. I may start Tai chi classes anyhow and learn from a live person. Because I have no eyesight my balance is off, so I think pilates and Tai Chi will both help with that as well as help with my flexibility. I'm tight. I need to learn to stretch and flex better. These are not intense exercises, but they are things my body is not used to, so I believe they will help me with my weight loss goals. They will also help with stress which you all know is pretty high in my life right now.
I haven't been to Zumba in awhile either, so am going to go to a class twice a week to shake things up. I'm also going to incoprorate more Bolloywood style dance into my dance fitness routine. So, there will be changes!
I'm also starting my new diet plan tomorrow and look forward to good results there as well! I'm feeling more motivated than I have in awhile and ready to make these changes to get me fit and fabulous! Life is good....
