I Don't Know How But I Gained 1.5 Pounds

So I weighed myself today and I have gained 1.5 pounds. In case you didn't get that let me repeat it....cause I can't believe it myself...I gained 1.5 pounds. I am dumbfounded. Like I said on a prior blog, I've burned over 2000 calories this week, 2000...I just don't understand.

My momma says that I'm building muscle and that could be the cause, I don't know. And to clarify I'm not giving up--I'm just confused as to what happened. I mean I did go to Cheesecake Bistro but having one meal shouldn't have done all that right??

Right now I'm very upset. I'll get over this, and move past it, I just need a day to cool off. I'm gonna take it easy today and then start fresh tomorrow.

Like the others said there are many different reasons for this to happen. Next week you may have a big loss. Don't let the scale beat you.

    Hey Jenna--I left u a goodie with my comments so forgive me if I repeat myself but...Yes, if u burned that many cals, u may have turned some fat into muscle which does weigh more which in turn could explain the 1.5lb. gain. It could be water weight. Did u go over your cals this week? There are so many variables especially for us lucky women. Even if it's close to your TOM..U could try reading some articles under the health and wellness section of Spark Articles. You may find some other answers. Whatever the case may be...I know it's frustrating. I've been right there with u, girl! Just don't give up. You seem to have a positive outlook and that is just what u need to succeed on this journey! No negative self talk allowed, young lady! You're doing it! You're burning those calories and that counts for alot! Next week may just show that loss plus some..who knows? Just remember too that when u weigh in, that scale is only showing what u weigh AT THAT EXACT MOMENT...Don't be a slave to the scale! It really can dampen your spirits. It's not the end all..Look for other indicators of how your journey is going...How are your clothes fitting? How's your energy level? How's your self esteem? A little peppier lately? Look for other NSV (Non scale victories)--They're everywhere! I don't weigh in every week like I used to. It got too depressing for me. I am going to weigh in tomorrow because it's part of a challenge otherwise I wouldn't weigh in til the end of the month. Maybe try measurements. They're much more accurate than a scale. Couldn't hurt. Whatever u decide...Give it your all, girl! You got this! Remember, I'm here for you..

  I understand I did the same thing I lost 5pds, gained 2pds., lost1pd., gained 1pd. It's very frustrating. I too, heard muscle weights more than fat that could be it. Sometimes I tend to be a little more constipated than other days. I think that matters. Not a very nice subject, but I think it makes a difference. I hope things get better for you.
