My busy disruptive week

Sunday, October 07, 2012

Life has got busier one of the people who spent 6 months with us has gone today and there was his room to go through and thoroughly clean. ALso I decided to tip all my clothes out of my wardrobe and sort. Some are going to recycling, there's been upheaval what with little repair jobs around the place being sorted. TO top it off we were invited to do "modelling" of our friend's cloaks. WHen I say modelling I don't mean of Paris, London, Milan, New York standards. Actually my first question to our friend was "Do yr cloaks cover a multitude of sins?" The forerunner to the past wkend's big finale to raise money for people who served in the Afghanistan war and entitled "Help the heroes" was held during the Olympics and we looked amazing with the cloaks hiding any excess flab! This time around was another story I was photographed with my niece and a beautiful girl from NZ who despite having 3 children is still as slim as a pin. We went for cocktails to a boutique that sells stuff from the Pacific area - black pearls, etc it's a nice little place about 3 blocks from Harrods. Such a good night I must have polished off so many calories it's beyond a joke. One of the designers tagged me in on the photo of 4 of us so with that I am going to do the hard yards and get my roster of things to do well in place. The largest part of me is my stomach and while it's still big I can put jeans on the were forever coming undone last year and they are now loose in that area
The food ar rhe boutique do was continuous it's quite amazing how little titbits can add up I had about 5 tiny little baskets of raw fish with coconut cream, lime juice and peppers. It's so delicious, plus the wine waiter kept refilling my champagne glass. And we were given boxes of supper the choices were aubergine or chicken & we took chicken. What a great evening apart from felling guilty at some point for not disciplining myself. The the big finale came which was a mixture of stress and laughter. And I'm glad it's all over. Did I feel inspired to make stuff yes but not whilst this place is upside down. Some people can sit in the midst of mess and make beautiful dainty eats or knitting and crochet but I'm not all that relaxed. I had a cousin like that who'd start her housework and in the process grab a book and before you knew it the afternoon was there with dishes still on the table. SHe was an awesome Mother though and multi-talented. Anyway I'm tired keep waking in the early hours, getting up and returning to bed for 2 hours then up again.
