Probably Just Something Totally Inelegant

Sunday, October 07, 2012

The old me would have been really excited because after weighing 132.4 at Weight Watchers and 130.8 here at home yesterday, I weighed 127.8 here this morning. But now I know better.

The truth is that I had a strange sharp pain under my left rib cage that I had never experienced before. I just could not eat supper last night. The pain is better, but not gone this morning. I decided to skip my regular Sunday bike ride. I'll putz around the house and do a little housework before the kids come at 11am for child care. It very well may be something totally inelegant like gas pain. In fact, I hope it is.

No, now I'm not excited about a three pound drop in weight. I'd much rather be pain free and out riding my bike! After a healthy day of eating I'll be pretty much back where I was, at a healthy weight, but a few pounds over my ideal. And I'll be still contradictorily celebrating 185 weeks of maintaining an over 80 pound loss and still wanting to be a few pounds less.

I hope it's nothing serious, but I agree that an unexplained pain in the side is more worrisome than being 3 pounds away from the weight you want, in either direction.

Wow! I must have had sympathy pains and didn't know it! I started to feel pain inb my stomach yesterday evening! I was out with D & Gianna when it hit. The good thing is we were at Gattitown (sorta like Chuck E Cheese but wise too!)
When I got home I popped some Pepto tabs and finally felt better. Go figure. If your pain doesn't go away in the next day, see your doctor. Better safe than sorry. I also want to be able to run with you soon, Marsha!

I am with you on wanting to be healthy more than anything. I so understand not feeling well and out of control due to it. It sure can ruin your day when you are not up to the normal activities.
Hope you are feeling better today.

Sometimes we do just get these odd little pains here and there and they do usually leave just as quickly as they come. I hope that is the case for you!

Interesting, the transition to where the scale is no longer the central focus of "happiness"... have we changed to being real, long-term maintainers, Marsha?

Feel better, soon! emoticon Putter gently and Spark on! emoticon
