Bad choices, but some good goal ideas.....

Sunday, October 07, 2012

Well, I did not do well in the eating department, but I had a great Saturday with my family. I will go with the fun and start the eating part again tomorrow. We went to our neighboring town and watched a women's hockey game this afternoon and my daughter and I stayed to watch the men's exhibition game in the evening. The whole family really enjoyed watching my alma mater, UND beat the Mankato women's hockey team and my daughter and I enjoyed the UND men getting the best of the U of Manitoba's team. My husband had to go home and rest before going to work overnight at a convenience store, or he would have stayed as well. Like I said, we had fun, but no one did really well with our "diet" plans. We are all in this more or less together. I am the only one tracking on SparkPeople at the moment, although my daughter plans to start soon. She did not want to start today, and I don't blame her. I kind of squinted at the screen while I entered all the "naughty" food I ingested today. Oh, did I mention we went to Sam's Club during "grazing hour" as well....good planning....not! Like I said, tomorrow is another day. Well, I still have not scheduled my mammogram, I promised my doctor that I would, so that he did not have to schedule it for me. Two things to get done this week....mammogram and dental appointment....ugh. At least there are constant reminders at work for me, as it is National Breast Cancer Awareness month and there is pink everywhere! The oncology department is very near us, so the pink glow kind of spills over to our lab area. :) I actually forgot to wear pink on Fridays according to our internal email.... Oh well, I will have to find my pink scrubs to wear next Friday. They will fit better than last time I wore them, that is for sure! Next weekend my family is looking forward to going to a concert in Fargo at the Fargodome. We have tickets to see Toby Mac, a Christian rock band. We went last spring to see Casting Crowns and loved it. Oh by the way, the jeans I wore today, fit a lot better than the last time I put them on as well. I am kind of looking forward to digging through my closet and seeing what else may fit a little better than it has for a long while. I know my ticker says I lost 9 pounds, but I actually lost 3 before I started tracking on SparkPeople, so 12 pounds makes a big difference in clothes sizes, at least for me. Maybe by Christmas, I can justify getting some new clothes instead of digging through my old ones. Maybe I will just go retro and dig out some from the 1980's that I know I have stuffed way back in a closet somewhere. LOL Why I still have them, I don't know, but maybe they will be good for an ego boost, or a good laugh some day. Maybe I will fit into my wedding gown for my 25th anniversary in June...hmmmm not a bad goal...or even have it be too large....a better goal! I better get some sleep, my brain seems to be getting a life of its own with all these crazy ideas. Good night. Lynel
