Here is the first weekend of this month. I went out with my neighbour, Shirley, and we did our little walk to McDonalds to have a tea. Then we walked back home. I remembered my pedometer and continued wearing it all through the day.
I helped do some leaf and pine needle raking and later, I got a few more groceries into the house for our Thanksgiving this Monday.
My step count was the best yet! 9310 steps, working out to 3.8 miles and 264 calories burned due to the activity.
Today I was asked if I wanted an ice cream cone because our weather was so unseasonably warm. My strategy today was to decline and explain that I'm walking to get in better shape. I didn't want to sabotage the effort with empty calories.
That decision was healthy for both of us!
