It's Good To Be Back

Saturday, October 06, 2012

I'm back from vacation...and boy was it a "vacation." I vacationed from eating right...bad idea. I vacationed from exercising...bad idea. But I had a great time and loved all my time with my son and daughter and new granddaughter! What a sweetie!

My granddaughter is now residing here in Ohio with my DIL since my son (in the Army) will soon be off at training for 30-45 days. So...I will get to see more of her! Yay! But I'm sad that my son will not be with her.

My daughter is due March 1st...and she finds out the sex of her baby next Friday. Anticipation is building! Woo hoo! Can't wait to find out. So much fun. I cannot get over how our family is growing so much all of a sudden. I LOVE being a grandma. Who knew this was so much fun!

In getting back from vacation, I finally sat down and went over my goals...for my weight...for my house...and for my finances. Then, I outlined 7 goals/action steps for each goal area. Today, I put the action steps into SP under other goals so that I can work on them daily and check them off. I really felt like I was flailing around when I got back. I had gained weight and I had really been eating way too much. But now that I'm back and began tracking (today), I really feel grounded and on-track and focused. It's a good feeling.

It's a nice coincidence that the fall challenge began today. That will be a great resource and motivation to stay on track. Hooray!

It's really fun to go away and especially to get to visit my kids who are so far away. But it's also nice to be back and getting into a good routine and begin working on my personal goals and plans. Yay!

Hope you all are having a great week! Keep up the good work! Thanks for the encouragement! Spark on! emoticon emoticon

Being a grandma is pretty awesome isn't it. It's nice that you get to see a little more of her now. I don't see mine everyday but it's nice to know she's close. The challenge is just what I needed to get myself back on track too. Here's to losing that 5%.

Welcome home! I'll bet you had so much fun with the new baby! There is nothing that compares to being a Grandma. Now put the bad eating and no exercise behind you. You are on track again and will soon be seeing results.

Glad you had a blast. Congrats on being a grandma (times two, almost!). You're very insightful in general: You know what you need to do, but never beat yourself up about it. Keep in mind something akin to the 80/20 rule. There is no "perfect" when it's a lifestyle change, and you need to enjoy the times when you let the calories slip a bit.

It's all good.

I also just got back from vacay and although I got no formal execise I managed to
get the food right 75% of the time. The R&R was well needed and long overdue
and now got my nose to the grindstone!
