A quick errand turned into a day at the festival

Last Friday night I attended an event to promote awareness of the high incidence of drug use and abuse of kids and young adults in my area. They had a bunch of raffles for fundraisers and I bought some tickets to support the cause. I ended up winning a fancy wax-warmer and had to go pick up my prize today.
I figured I would pick it up leave it and my car at the church and retrace the path of the candlelit vigil we walked on friday. The area is a fantastic shopping town, and I figured I would stop in some of the stores that I passed. I arrived a the very tail end of the prize pick-up period and was chatting with my friend (it is her not-for profit organization) when she realized I had driven 20 plus miles just to make the pick-up. She had nothing else to do for the day and the village was having its fall festival so we decided to walk around and check it out. We spent two hours wandering around the booths and walking the streets and park. I figure it balances out the fact that we each had a pickle and a sausage & peppers sandwich for lunch.
I had forgotten how much I used to love wandering around fairs & festivals and I hadn't done this in years. I didn't realize how much my weight and lack of fitness had been hindering my enjoyment of life!
