Painful or Adventurous

Saturday, October 06, 2012

I've been at SP for a few months now and up till now it has been wonderful, hopeful and an adventure. Lately my exercising was halted due to back therapy. I cannot believe how much that has affected my outlook. Until I can exercise again, I am afraid this "diet" is just that. Perhaps I will try some new recipes to perk me up.

Take care of yourself! Back problems are the worst! Have fun finding some new recipes! Spark people has a ton. I like that I can just plug in an ingredient and it comes up with a lot of recipes.

By the way, Happy 4 month Sparkversary last week!

I'm sorry about your back injury. I understand how that may damper your spirits. If you look at this as a quest for overall good health instead of a diet, then you know that taking care of your injury is by no means slacking. It's taking good care of you. Try to look at the positives and believe that this temporary physical setback doesn't have to knock your emotional resilience out of whack.

In the meantime, I will be keeping you in my thoughts and hoping for better days for you very soon!

As Nancy just said, "Don't you fret". Just keep posting here on Sparks and do the very best you can with food. If you slip up it's okay! Tomorrow is a new day, new beginning.

I have had back surgery twice. The first one landed me in bed for six months. I can totally relate. It's so frustrating when you can't move around.

My thoughts and prayers are with you!

PEACE!

Don't lose heart or focus - remember that eating healthy accounts for about 80% of weight loss success. Try new recipes, take time to review your successes - all of them - not just weight related ones. Focus on creating positive ways to cheer yourself. I don't know what you actually can and cannot do but while you may not be able to exercise due to back therapy, can you do anything like slow yoga, chair exercises, or water movements (NOT EXERCISE, BUT simply movements)?

I will pray for your rapid healing and return to good health.
