Garden Update

Saturday, October 06, 2012

It seems a bit strange to be gardening when others are already getting snow, but here in AZ, the high temps are still in the 90's, dropping into the 80's later this week. This is an update on my "winter garden".

A distance shot - the back section is the original garden, the front is the expansion my DH built earlier this year. This is the first time we have planted in it.

This is in the back section, with carrots on the left, and lettuce coming up in the center, and one of the zucchini plants on the right.

This is the front section with, clockwise from the lower left, corn, tomatoes, peppers and bush beans.

The back section again. In the foreground are the green onions I just planted.

I already have zucchini blossoms and tomato blossoms, and pepper buds. I can't wait until I can start harvesting!

Oh what a nice garden! I've tried gardening in the past but seem to have black thumb of death instead of a green thumb LOL! Enjoy the veggies when they are ready!

Garden looks great! my tomatoes pretty much all died quickly this year. I'll try them on containers next year. did get my fall garden planted this morning. It was 80 today but there's a cold front coming through tonight, so we may be in the 50s for a low. Have a great weekend!

Your garden looks great and very organized. DH did a great job on the expansion.

It was 42 this morning so even on our upper bedroom south side deck it was cold and I think we have gotten the last of the tomatoes. It is going to be 33 tonight, I bet the flowers are done too, I have a wedding so I cannot cover up the flowers.

Great job again on the garden.

LOL- looks great - at 38 degrees my tomato plants are fading fast - I guess I'll have to make fried green tomatoes, Earl
