Sparking through rough times

Saturday, October 06, 2012

I haven't posted for awhile since I was having a rough time with my diabetes. The meds gave me a nasty reaction and then when I quit the medication per my doctor's orders my blood sugar went crazy. But I forced myself to keep Sparking even if only a minimal amount. A lot of days I didn't feel like it. But I tried to at least log in if nothing else and do a bit of exercise.

I think that maybe be part of what helped me to finally turn the corner. I am back to doing my Wii Walk it Out. This morning my blood sugar was perfect and then I did a 2 1/2 hr workout where I walked 4.7 miles before 9 am.

The rest of the day I will be running errands and working on my new loom. I am weaving a piece for my mother for Christmas. It is an colonial overshot pattern that is called Rose of Sharon. Since Sharon is my first name I think she will appreciate it.

But, I think things have gotten a lot better since even when I was in a bad spot I kept Sparking. So I guess the moral is DON'T GIVE UP. SPARK ON!!!

Things can get rough and make us want to give up on this healthier lifestyle, but as long as you keep doing little bits and doing what you can things will get better somehow, even if not in the way you expect. Glad to see you never gave up on SP!

Having a bad reaction to your meds does not sound like fun. So proud of you that you managed to Spark even when having a problem. My husband was having issues with his blood sugar and went on a medically supervised weight loss diet. He is now almost out of the obese range and into the over weight zone. As he has lost the weight his blood sugar levels have gone down and so has his high blood pressure. It is amazing to see how much our weight affects our health. Good luck to you on finding the right balance of meds and feeling good again. emoticon
