Sooooo.... today was a busy day: class in the morning and afternoon, grocery shopping, housecleaning and baking in the evening in preparation for the parents visit this weekend, (mmmm.. carrot cake... no judgements, it's a slimmed down version!) and before I know it, it's already 10:00 pm and *gasp* I have yet to squeak in a workout! I get on my exercise gear -- the shorts, the sneakers, the sports bra. I fill up my water bottle, totally intending to jump on the spinning bike for 30 minutes. Then, something comes over me, (it's that little devil called laziness) and all of the sudden I'm laying in bed, checking emails on my phone. Believe me, at this point, I'm ready to call it a night and start fresh tomorrow.
My bf comes home from work at that moment, looks at me all dressed in my garb (Nike's included) and says, "How was your work-out?" Totally sincere. Now, he's in line with my goals, and at this point in time, even more than I am. He knows how bad I want to reach them. I couldn't lie. "I didn't work out. I think I'm just gonna go extra hard in the morning." He gives me that look. "C'mon babe, you can do a half hour!" And with that little push, I was rejuvenated.
Jumping up from the bed, I plugged in my headphones, turned on Pandora, hopped on the bike and sweat for 30 glorious minutes. And you know what? I feel good. Better, even. And it was so easy, with the right motivation. Sometimes, it's the littlest things that make a big difference.
