Crossfit Rocks!

Today I went to the crossfit gym my husband joined as a friends and family participant. I went Monday, but it was an atypical workout. I learned how to clean and jerk and burned a lot of calories on Monday which was fun. Be aware though that I said all the way to the gym that I wasn't going to pick up a weight bar. Todays workout was brutal!! I made sure to increase my protein intake for muscle repair, and I actually feel good. I'm a little sore here and there, but again I burned over 500 calories. I think I like it because there's a coach that tells you what the workout will be, teaches you the moves and encourages you through the workout. It's all group personal training with a flat monthly fee like most other gyms. I didn't think I'd like it because I'm less than a year and a half from the big 50 and didn't know if I could do the moves. My BMI is in the obese range currently which also gave me the idea that I couldn't do it. I definitely thought lifting weights was not for me. Guess what ... I was wrong. So now I'm not going to say what I won't do ... I'm just going to try. Open your mind and the rest will follow.
