Is It Really Possible, Did I See Pigs Flying?

No, but I questioned it after this morning.

I know that we go through stages where we lose weight faster and then plateau and all of that. I get that. I really do. I understand that despite working out hard and eating right that some times we will lose more than other times. I get that. I really do.

So help me out here Sparkville. I had my scheduled weigh-in this morning. It is my 30 day done of Tap Out XT weigh-in. It had been 3 weeks since my last weigh in where I lost about 3 lbs. in 2 1/2 weeks. So this weigh in was after 3 weeks of doing Tap Out XT and eating right.

So what was I expecting? I was expecting 2.8 lbs. That would put me at 70 lbs. total. 70! I would be happy with that. But, I have been working really hard and was hoping for 5 lbs. Hey, I said I was hoping. So what were my results...

I LOST 15.4 lbs!!! Yes, 15.4!!!

Is that even possible?

I had the same quarter mouth open, thousand yard stare from the time I left work this morning until I got home. Did I read the numbers right? I weighed myself 3 times so should I have done it a 4th? Was the scale broken? Were pigs flying? What? Huh?

Same scale I have used the entire time. It can't be off by that much. So maybe I really did lose that much! Maybe I hit one of those metabolism lottery things for the last 3 weeks? Whatever it is, I will take it!

It has taken awhile for me to process this but it has started to settle in. I am now down 82.6 lbs! Awesome! Gave me a great boost for my workout today!

    Oh it happens. Through this journey I found that my body stops losing weight for about 2-3 weeks then bam, 3-4 pounds gone the next week. And for my size, even for each of those times, losing 3-4 pounds shouldn't have happened. Best this too is to measure and see, that is where I saw the most change. Mind you 15 pounds is a big drop, but with you only weighing in every 30 days... maybe!

    Try getting on the scale, see what it says, then get back on with something heavy, weights, a cat, etc. After that # pops up get back on again. I do that sometimes to make sure my scale isn't lying to me!

    Totally possible AND totally AWESOME! The most I ever lost consecutively was 4 lbs a week for like 3 weeks. So yeah, totally possible. Your body's just really inefficient at doing the new exercises, which is GREAT because it calls on more "stored energy" aka fat.
