My DH and I just spent 10 days away on a great vacation to Branson, MO. Ten days with no scale and no kitchen to prepare any meals. Six days in a car, with some exercise but not as much as I wanted. We ate out 3 times a day. I did pack safe snacks. We found a very nice buffet that served 3 meals a day. I said that this was not an option every day and my DH agreed. The best laid plans can fall apart. We ate a lot of breakfasts and dinners at this buffet. I was able to stay close to my calorie counts each day. Did I go over a time or two? Of course! After we returned I couldn't wait to jump on the scale. I figured that 5 pounds would be a reasonable gain that I could live with. To my surprise there was NO weight gain! I could not believe my eyes! I guess that all the measuring and tracking of food, and reading articles in the past 18 months has really sunk in! It felt great to know that I can maintain my weight at least for a short period of time. Maybe it is time to stop weighing in each day to monitor the ups and downs.
Way to go! It sounds like you had a terrific vacation. Nice going on the eating front, too. You must have been active. What a wonderful welcome home from you beloved scale!
