Where do you want to be in 1 year?

Friday, October 05, 2012

"Don't let the fear of the time it will take to accomplish something stand in the way of you doing it. The time will pass anyway; we might just as well put that passing time to the best possible use. " - Earl Nightingale

Don't know if anyone else can relate, but I needed to remind myself of this today. If I think of how long it will take me to get to a reasonable/healthy weight, I can get a little discouraged. So, even if it takes a year (or more) then I can be proud of myself for using that time to become more healthy! I certainly don't want a year to pass and find myself the same or (gasp!) worse.

I choose to keep doing the work because...quitting is not an option!

I've set a 22 month time limit to lose 100 lbs. Will I make that goal? No telling. But I'll work as hard as I can to reach it. That's all any of us can do. emoticon

It is hard to keep things in perspective. Sometimes I feel like I'm busting my butt, so why am I not healthy already? Good to have someone remind me that I didn't get this way over night and I won't change it overnight.

AMEN - quitting is NOT an option! AND truthfully & sadly, loosing weight IS work - IF it were easy, NO ONE would be an ounce overweight! Hang in there - we're in this thing together!
