Well the eating better part is going okay, but.....

Well the healthy eating thing is not going too bad. I still need to up my fiber intake daily and a few more veggies and fruits but it is going pretty well. A lot of the habits I picked up the first time I was here seem to have stuck. I notice that I still have low fat products in the fridge. Light margarine, canola and olive oils for cooking, and that I still am making more from scratch than I am buying prepackaged crap. My crock pot has become my best friend and we have planned a menu out for a MONTH so I can shop for the items we need and get the best sells to cut down on the cost of healthy eating. My biggest problem is portion control, and I have the measuring cups out again!!

Now my biggest obstacles are getting sleep and exercise. I have a goal to get 8 hrs per night, but I am not hitting it ( see previous blog entry). I have been shooting for 6 hrs per night as I was only getting 5 or 4 on average. Last night I did not make 6 hrs but work kept me until after midnight and I have to be up by 6:30 am to get my daughter out the door for school. I had managed 6 hrs the two nights before though. I think I am on the right track to get my sleep habits fixed, barring work. Exercise, aka torturing myself, is a problem. I am trying to walk the dogs at least 3 times per day around the block. It isn't much but it is a start. It is a lot more than I have been doing. Problem is as the cold weather moves in, I can't walk outside and we don't have a car for me to get someplace to walk inside. We have a Wii and and Xbox360. I sold my Wii Fit as it just was too easy to cheat at. I am thinking about getting the Kinect for the Xbox and getting one of the dance games. It would be fun and the kids should like it too. Besides it would be worth all the money in the world to see my husband try to do one of those games... emoticon
