It's a New Day!

Friday, October 05, 2012

It's a new day and a new opportunity to do things right and somewhat salvage this week. Sure, I didn't go to the gym, but I can at least be watching what I'm eating. We have a birthday celebration as well as our Canadian Thanksgiving so I will need to compensate for those by having low calorie breakfasts and lunches. I know I can do this and maybe I'll even squeeze a trip to the gym in.

My biggest problem this week is not being able to wake up at 6:00. I've been pushing 7:30 everyday which puts everything into a rush in the morning. I think I'm fighting a cold which explains it, but next week my focus is on getting up early again. When I get up at 6, I'm able to have breakfast, make lunches, and hit the gym all before I go to work. When I sleep in, I'm missing the gym because I need to come home, have breakfast, and get ready for work after dropping my son off at school. Waking up earlier alleviates all of that.

Plus, the benefits of exercising come almost immediately as I have way more energy throughout the day and am more apt to do productive things at night rather than sitting on the couch watching TV. The benefits are all over the place - I just need to keep reminding myself of that and tuning into the highly motivated individual I was before this week.

Thanks for the words of encouragement and support. It's always comforting to know that you're not the only one struggling. We can all do this!!!

Fighting a cold might just mean you need that extra sleep. You're right to put this week behind and get back on track next week. emoticon

Sounds like you are very busy. Try scheduling in small amounts of exercise throughout your day, maybe a 10 minute walk when you have a break, or go outside and play with your kids, it definitely helps you get moving!
