Healthy Eating 101

I have been retraining my brain and dealing with my carb addiction. I'm making lifestyle changes. So I went to a presentation last night in order to reaffirm steps I have all ready taken and to see what other areas need addressing.
Two things jumped out at me.
The first was water. Drinking more water will keep me hydrated and aid with digestion, ( I slipped off the water wagon) Being dehydrated stresses the body. Which bring me to the second thing....
STRESS- I need to find consistent ways to deal with stress. That fight or flight thing does make sense, Digestion shuts down and the body focuses on the limbs. My most stressful meal time is dinner. Hmmm... perhaps saying Grace at mealtime helps with more than being thankful. It slows us down, gets us mindful, and de-stresses us.
So my plan is to drink water 20-30 minutes before meals, say Grace and take a few deep breaths before eating.
