I seem to do best when I schedule things into my day, very precisely. I know it seems a little extreme, but for me, it works, especially right now. So here is tonight's schedule:
5:00 feed birds/fresh water for dogs
let dogs out
change into workout clothes
5:20 set up laptop with workout music, and crank it up!!
work out with My Fitness Coach on Wii, focusing on arms. 30 minutes. With weights!
5:50 change into comfy clothes, start a load of laundry
6:00 watch the news
fold clean towels from dryer
eat post-work out snack (trail mix?)
move motivational poster to more visible area
This weekend I don't have quite so planned, since I'm not sure what hubby's schedule at work will be like. But, I do have several things to accomplish:
meet friend for italian ice's
hit the gym at least once
walk at least one dog
work on budget for a few minutes, just to check in
track food at least one weekend day
These aren't necessarily goals, because I think that word leaves too much wiggle room for me to get out of. These are things that must be done, and therefore are rules. Does anyone else feel the word goal gives them too much leeway? Maybe it's just me, but I need some strictness right now to keep me on plan. I'm so stressed at work, and going home to an empty house every night for several hours is lonely and boring, and I find myself in pj's in front of the tv snacking all night until hubby gets home. I can't let that keep happening, so a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do!
