Gas Prices ($4.59 & rising) & MOD

Friday, October 05, 2012

On Monday, I filled my tank (vehicle, not my body's) with $4.15 gal. Two days later, $4.59 and rising daily. In a week, they are saying there will be lines and some stations closing. This is in San Diego. Every time gas goes up like this, they use the excuse of a refinery fire. We are being gouged, plain and simple.

As for being MOD, wow, ME???? Most days, I barely motivate myself, let alone others!(smiling)
But thank you to those who voted for me, or however it's selected.

I am on my way down for the count now. Weigh in indicated significant progress and I'm determined to make this my final round. About 12 lbs to go now.

Have a happy day.

I agree that they are just taking advantage of a chance to raise gas prices
next time they drop to $4 everyone will be releived and their profits go up
congrats on being mod

Yep! I was shocked by gas prices as I was out driving yesterday. Gonna fill up on Monday. Hoping for the usual weekend bump in prices to go down a bit. Aaaargh!

The midwest got gouged for awhile because of some refineries in IL and the price is finally going back down, but we weren't nearly as bad as the news is saying CA will be. At least it is incentive to drive less, carpool more, take public transport more, walk more, or do with less (when possible). Everyone loves their independence, but sometimes it comes with a price.

I hope this only lasts for a short time and/or government gets involved and helps somehow. $6/gallon gas in the US is just crazy. But in the meantime, you have incentive to try other forms of transportation.

glad to see all those no sugar days. I'm reading Richard Johnson M.D.'s
THE SUGAR FIX" and have learned so much. Robert Lustig M.D.'s series on Youtube "The SKINNY ON OBESIT"Y is something everyone should watch.

My mom lives in Oceanside and I'm thinking of sending her some $. They live on a fixed income and will be stuck going nowhere if this continues! We're 3.79 or so here in IA.

Yep, they look for excuses to raise gas prices. They have become the equivalent of a used car salesman. Nothing is done about the gouging.

Good job. You are getting so close!!!

A refinery fire really can make a difference in price, especially Richmond. California requires special gas, and most refineries in the country don't refine to California requirements.
