Measuring food...

Yesterday I ran 2 miles, as planned. 21:15, not bad. Was not feeling 100% so I did 2:1 Galloway ratio.

Today is 2.5 mile run and ST, as well as tracking my food.

I'm a big cereal eater. When I pour myself a bowl of cereal, it's a whole bowl of cereal. Today I measured out the 3/4 cup that equaled one serving, and my heart (and stomach) sank when I saw how small it was. I didn't even need 1 cup of milk to cover it, so I made due with 1/2 cup (skim).

I know I'm going to be hungry before lunch, but I'm usually hungry by 10:30 anyway. I'm a gum chewer and a water drinker so that helps occupy my mouth and stomach.

Oh, and someone brought us cinnamon rolls at work yesterday, and my boss made each of us take a pan home. So I did, and now I'm making Jordan take it to work because I know the guys in the shop will appreciate it!

Ok, off to pack a nutritious lunch!

    How many calories are getting daily? I usually do 3 meals and 2-3 snacks. I know I run a lot so probably eat more calories. Steph is right about the protein. Milk does have some, but more would help you feel fuller. Also with Multigrain Cheerios you can get in a cup of cereal.

You'll figure it out with practice. Good job on your running and giving away cinnamon rolls! emoticon

It's amazing how small a serving of cereal is. Good for you for giving away the cinnamon rolls.

    I know that's the serving suggestion, but I don't think 3/4 a cup of cereal is a sufficient breakfast for anyone! I'd get some protein with it or at least plan a snack for later :) Breakfast is an important part of the day. You can plan for some of your calories to be there as a solid foundation, though I know you know this. Don't go hungry!
