New Month, Clean Slate

So I created my profile a few weeks ago, but would log on sporadically. I realize every day is a day to start fresh, but sometimes a girl just needs a new month. October is my new month. Mondays are my weigh-in days and October started this past Monday, so it was a perfect way to start anew for me.

I exercised on Monday, Tuesday, twice on Wednesday, and once today-I was going to go to Zumba tonight actually, but after walking around the Rosebowl I realized my feet were killing me. Came home and saw I had a HUGE blister on each foot. Totally sucked and it hurts to even walk. I'm hoping they'll be healed for the mostpart tomorrow because I'd really like to get a Zumba class in.

I realize it's technically been less than a week, but I feel like something has clicked. I can't quite explain it but something is different. I'm eating well, I actually truly look forward to exercising and though I've tried so many different diets/weight-loss programs in the past, I have to say-I really really like this platform. I actually look forward to tracking my food and exercise (shocker!) and getting points. Not to mention, I love all the motivating articles and pages.

I've been overweight my entire life, and I don't think I remember a New Year's Eve Resolution that didn't start with "This year I'm going to lose weight and get healthy...really..." but the way I'm feeling, this is going to be my year. In the words of Yoda: "Do or do not, there is no try." Word, little man, word.

    Hi! I'm on the beautiful butterflies team with you~ I just started reading your blog and really relate to this first posting. I started over about mid January & am proud to say I've lost 15 pounds so far. I'm excited to lose another 15 during the 5% challenge! Good luck with your weight loss!

    Sometimes you're just ready! I love the fall, I can see how October is just.. different somehow. October is new. September is not quite fall.

I hope your blisters heal soon! Maybe new socks?

I crazy love tracking. It's so weird, isn't it? I hated it on WW. But then, SP has way better pie charts, so that must be it.

    Sounds like you have the motivation!! Keep it up!! I will buy different magazines about weight loss, it helps to inspire me!!! Look at before and after pics of you and or friends that have/are making their journey!! My best motivation is still " IT'S JUST FOOD, IT'S NOT WORTH MY LIFE!! " The first month was the worst for me but I'm happily over that hurdle and sticking with my goals!! I just need a new/different exercise program if you have any suggestions, let me know!

    Awesome!!! Even when I start to slide, and I don't feel like even logging my food, I will still log in to Sparkpeople. Sometimes just seeing my friend's activity or reading an article or five can get me motivated and back on track. I hope you keep your momentum and keep blogging!!! emoticon emoticon

    Sometimes it does just click. You make some changes, see some positive results, find that you are proud of your efforts and that keeps you excited to see what happens next. Welcome, lots of luck, and know you can and will do this!
