My little trick for my overweight dog.

Thursday, October 04, 2012

Recently got a pedometer. It's still too hot to walk outside, so I walk a mile inside twice a day. I noticed my dog, which it's too hot to walk , seems a little interested in following me. I took out the laser pen and he runs after the red dot. He tires out after about a half mile. He is a golden with alot of hair, and we keep the house at 80o , so he just gets too hot. But still something is better than nothing for both him and me. And it's really fun!!!

    Neat idea
Make sure you both drink plenty of water with the heat
You can dehydrate quickly
One day at a time

I'm going to have to find me a laser pen and try that with our little pooch who loves to eat and sleep. I do take her for walks when I am able to.

"Make it fun and it will get done!" Flylady's recommendation for house cleaning but it works for exercise too! :)

LOL. Sounds like fun! I am paranoid about letting my dogs get overweight! Their food is very controlled, and happily they are ideal weights. Now, if only I can get myself there!

That's a cool little trick. I wish I could do that for my dog but she is scared to death of things like that. We rescued her from the street and it was obvious she was severely abused. She won't even play with toys! :(

We take her for walks and she is outside a lot but she is still 2-3 lbs overweight.
