We are in week 7 of the MetB diet--technically you're not supposed to weigh for 8 weeks, but I've been naughty and weighed twice! emoticon I've lost 8#'s so far, and I'm tickled pink with how my clothes are fitting, and how my stomach 'muffin top' is disappearing! And for my mother! WOW!!!! She has lost 12+#'s, off her diabetes meds and blood pressure meds. She is thinking that they'll cut her cholesterol meds, AND the most exciting part, she has MORE energy than she has had in YEARS! She isn't napping daily! She cleans her house in ONE day, and still has energy to spare! I just couldn't be happier!

I go to the doctor on Tuesday for my physical--and to talk to her about my emotional state! I'm NOT doing well! I cried the ENTIRE day on Monday! My eyes hurt SO BAD from crying and they were swollen! Anyway, I certainly will be glad to be OUT of this season of my life and onto brighter days. THis is my 8th month without cycling so MAYBE there is light at the end of this menopausal tunnel--and it's NOT another train coming at me! ha!

Love you all!

Here is a pic of my BEAUTIFUL mother, father and me! I LOVELOVELOVE that woman or AND I love my daddy too!!

Great to hear your mom is fairing well.

Thank you for detailing this season in life. My family had surgeries and skipped these glory days leaving me pretty clueless about it all.

emoticon I hope you're days are getting sunnier for you.

So glad to get an update!
You were in my thoughts to check in on while I was out walking today. (4 mi & I remembered that you had done 5 mi every day for many days.)

Anyway, I'm happy that some of those stubborn pounds have dropped... such a process, eh!?! And this season of life, such a challenge! My mood swings are worse than a flying monkey on a trapeze! Add some stress to that, and I'm not much good to be around. Sigh... (You are further down the path, I believe. I'm still cycling regularly, just longer and more of it.)

"Today is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it." (inspite of everything)

I'm glad you're talking to your doctor about how you're feeling. There really IS an end to it--and that light at the end of the tunnel won't be a train! You're doing SO well!

Love the picture of you and your family. You and your mom are doing great on the diet. It's great to hear about her turning her life around.

Menopause is a difficult time but it gets easier and for me the last few years have been very liberating.

That's great about the Met B.! Sorry about the emotional menopause stuff. And lol, I have not had a period since January. NOT liking the hot flashes, but I guess I will live through it....that is the worst part for me. LOL...everything I read says that EXERCISE helps, so glad I am doing so much of that!

So sorry you are experiencing some emotional issues. Thos hormones are a mess some times.
Hang in there and know I will be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

Love you too!

Less than a month until I go to Kansas City for Women of Faith again. I am so excited. My DIL from Wichita is meeting me there as well as a friend from Springfield, Mo. My Nurse Practioner
is going with me from here. She and I used to work together and she is such a sweet Christian. It will be such a good weekend.
