Nervous, worried, anxious, scared...

Thursday, October 04, 2012

All of these emotions I am feeling right now. Starting this whole process again is so intimidating! I have tried this and weight watchers for a total of 3 times.... Each time I start out so well and then it never fails, I get sick of watching/counting every single thing I eat. It's frustrating knowing that I have to make actually decisions when it comes to food, whereas others can just eat whatever, whenever. I hate everything about dieting! BUT I am starting to think that I don't actually have to "diet"... I know what choices are best and what to eat, I just need to stick with that! I really want to make this a lifestyle and not just a thing for the next few months. I can do this!

If you don't want to track everything you eat, try measuring everything you eat. Buy a cheap food scale and allow yourself to have EXACTLY one serving of whatever you eat. When I started doing this, I was suprised that I was eating two, sometimes three servings of nearly everything. If you are still hungry after, force yourself to wait fifteen minutes before eating more. Also, buy a pedometer and require yourself to put in at least 10,000 steps Monday through Friday and12,000 steps on the weekend. Doing these two things will take longer to reach your goal but it will happen naturally without you feeling life you have to put in too much effort. Good luck and welcome back.

you are not alone...I think I've done WW two or three times and this is my fourth time with Spark...and I just restarted today..
I do prefer Spark because there is so much more available here.....and I love that it tracks all my nutrients so I can be sure my carb/protein ratios are pretty good
and on Spark I don't feel the tediousness of all the point counting....
the important thing is not how many times we have quit..............the important thing, right here and right now is that we are back
wishing us both much success this go round

I think you have the right idea about the lifestyle change. It seems to have helped me to plan a week ahead of time what I am going to eat for the week, using the nutrition tracker.

emoticon You've got the right attitude about making good food choices and it sounds like you know what you are doing. Consistency and sticking with it are the keys. No reason to be afraid- we're all right here with you! Best of luck to you in achieving your goals! emoticon
