My inner Goddess stumbled but kept on running (trotting)

Thursday, October 04, 2012

I went to do my virtual 5k at the gym yesterday. emoticon
I was all psyched up and ready to go. emoticon
I got 2/3 the way through at a nice 4.6 trot. I couldn't believe it. ME! The girl who couldn't walk a mile at 3.0mph!!!
I was planning on speeding up to 5.0 the last mile and then maybe faster the last 1/10 of a mile.
I had it all planned and what did I go and do??????????

I accidentally pulled the emergency stop cord on the treadmill!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It took me about 15-20 seconds to get it back started.

I was so mad emoticon
I ran the last 1.1 miles at 5.5
I didn't see the time on the first part in order to add to the second part.

Ok, I've grumbled and bitched enough :-)
Now to positive thinking

I RAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I Actually moved my body at a relatively fast pace in a forward motion emoticon
Without stopping (at least not on purpose)
AND I have faith that I can do it again!!!!!!!

Life is so wonderful emoticon

Arrrrgggg, That's frustrating but I can tell you that if you ran at 4.6mph for 2 miles consistently your time would have been 26 minutes 5 seconds (that's for exactly 2 miles)

I'm incredibly proud of you mom! My end goal is the ability to run a 5k myself, I have a LONG way to go before I can even consider it or attempt a single mile ;o)

You're doing great and don't consider this a set back, just a motivational prank pulled on you by the workout equipment! (You ran faster to finish didn't you?) hehe

Great for you on your run, and darn that stupid treadmill! emoticon While it was just a small setback, just remember that you're doing fantastic and still reaching for your goals!! emoticon Keep at it, and have a wonderful evening! emoticon

Good for you! That damn stop cord! I have done that before too. Or the other day when I was trying to do a morning run and dropped my phone twice and had to stop to pick up the pieces which just slowed me down and pissed me off. But its all good, the run was accomplished for both of us.
