Fall - Gotta love it!! October Blog 5

I know its too early for the FULL end of summer here in Georgia but you'd never know it with our morning weather yesterday and today! It was 58 degrees with sunshine when I went for my walk this morning - PERFECT walking weather!! I wore arm warmers and nylon gloves with a short sleeved UnderArmour shirt and was perfectly comfortable! When I began getting warm I just removed the armer warmers (hung them over the band of my pack) and when I got warm again I removed the gloves and fastened them to the large safety pin I keep attached to my pack for just that purpose. It was a WONDERFUL walk - the leaves are changing color, the birds were singing, and as a special bonus I saw a family of SIX deer - two babies, two more adolescent size and two adults! I often see deer (I live in a very rural neighborhood) but six at a time is a treat!!
On to my goals:
Cardio - my knee/leg felt good, just a little sore, so I enjoyed 90 minutes of walking (3.2 on my morning walk and another 2 when I walked Boudreaux - he's loving the cooler weather!!)
ST - Completed 120 reps of core exercise (planks, crunches, dumbbell side bends and superman).
Nutrition - I only got in 6 servings of freggies because Phil decided to grill hamburgers so I had a hamburger for dinner rather than the veggies I'd planned. But I skipped the chips and had grapes as a side instead. So I'm counting that as a win!!
Sugar - I slipped just a little on that one. I keep Weight Watchers chocolate raspberry ice cream bars in the freezer and without thinking I had one yesterday afternoon. I remembered to check for sugar AFTER I'd taken the wrapper off and found they have 8 grams of sugar included in their 80 calories. These are a treat I CAN keep in the house and only eat one but I think when this package is gone I'll refrain from buying more for a while. The sooner I get all the sugar out of my diet the sooner I can (hopefully) get over the craving for it.
Today's plan is more of the same. I'm going back out to walk 3 more miles sometime after 2:00pm (I try to stay out of the sun from 11:00 to 2:00 as much as possible and its quite sunny today). I need to pay some bills then I plan to do some organizing. But first its time for ST! Talk to you tomorrow!!
