2 weeks = habit?

Thursday, October 04, 2012

Two weeks in and 3.2 pound lighter, I attribute the success to avoiding the dreaded night time munchies. In the past, I would snack at night. After much thought and analysis, I noticed that I wasn't really hungry, I was tired. I admit that I don't get enough sleep and have been trying to get more of those elusive ZZZ's. When I'm drawn to the pantry, I think about my energy level. If it's during the day, I'll drink water and reevaluate, or find something to keep me busy or get something done that's been nagging me. still hungry? ... eat an apple. If it's past 10:30pm, I go to bed. It's a simple solution to a potential binge. So far, the plan is working!

I am glad YOUR plan is working for you! Sometimes I want a snack at night, and I also try to figure out why. Maybe I didn't eat enough during the day. Maybe I don't have anything to do, and just feel like I have to eat to pass the time!
Great job drinking water before you snack! Keep up the great work!

I tend to snack more when I am home as well. Something the helps me. I am not allowed to snack from the couch in front of the TV, or at the computer. The only place I am allowed to eat is at the kitchen table.
I also drink a tall glass a water first, if 30 minutes later I still feel hungry, I reach for something healthier, like fruit or raw veggies. It seems to help me as well. I'm working on the sleep thing too, I have a hard time going to sleep lately.
