T Minus 88, aka Where Do YOU Wanna Be in 12.5 Weeks?

That's right, folks, we are down to the wire. October marks the beginning of the 4th quarter of the year. Can you believe it?! Robin asked me in yesterdayís blog where I want to be in 89 days. Huh. Even though Iím a goal setter and metric taker, I havenít given it much thought. My purpose for counting down the days is simply to make sure Iím doing SOMETHING healthy each day to move me along the continuum.

But I should keep my eye on the prize and all that. The fact that I really havenít could be whatís been holding me back from being truly sensational. I know I have it. We all have it. Itís just teasing that greatness out of hiding that can be the greatest challenge.

So, Robin, that was a powerful question. Thanks for asking it. When Iím looking out on the horizon, the weight goal is the obvious one. I regrettably have not made any progress on that front this year. Yay for me for maintaining 30, but itís time to make something happen in 2012. Yikes, ĺ of the year is gone and Iíve only treaded water! If I pull it together, I could potentially loseÖ25 pounds. Wow, are you kidding? I still have a chance to reach ONEderland by the end of the year. Woohoo, letís go for it!!

Another thing I wish to accomplish is to complete the 12 week strength training program I keep restarting. I start Week 4 this week. Actually, I better start today before CarbJunkie asks me why not today. I love you guys holding me accountable! We donít need formal pacts to make it happen, we just do it. Thank you.

A workout streakÖooh, 88 days is a big commitment. Can I really do it? I think I can commit to 30 minutes every day until the end of the year. Itís for a good cause, right? My unwritten plan will be to exceed 30 and make sure Iím elevating the heart rate. Oh, thatís so good and motivating to think through this!

Lastly, this is for my daughter whoís gotta do pushups for her final PT test. Iím going to train to do 100 pushups. I was impressed to find out that I can do real pushups this year. I was doing wall pushups and girlie pushups just last year. Time to see what Iíve really got!

    Ohhh those are great goals! I would love to be in the 250's or below. I can't wait until I can do real push-ups!

    I would love to be at my first goal weight of 155 lbs, but it's not going to happen, so I'm not even dreaming it. If I can't do that, I want to be at 160 lbs, 5 lbs lighter than now and 26 lbs down for the year. Not sure that's going to happen either, especially since I'm going on break. So really, the biggest thing that I want to happen right now is to stay right here at 165, and not gain anything while I'm on break for the next few months.

    Wow, great goals. My goal is to consistently stick with my plan with working out as I have been these last 7 weeks. And to be accountable by putting my calorie deficit or gain on my comment everyday. Which means I have to track my food! As a result of these actions, my size 18s will be getting loose by the end of the year. Thanks Brenda for helping me by asking the question back, so I could define my goals, as well!!! Hugs...Robin

    Great blog.
My goal for end of year is to have lost 10% of my starting weight. As of weigh in last Friday I have 12.3 lbs to lose to get there.

    Wow, good reflections, Brenda. In my mind when I started spark, I gave myself 3 years to get to a healthier weight. I wanted to lose at least 100 pounds, more would be better. The first year was a success as I lost 53 pounds. Then came year 2. October 10 will be my 2nd spark anniversary, and I'm up 7 pounds from where I was last year at this time. Part of me still counts that as a success ~ as I didn't gain it all back as I used to in my past weight loss attempts. The other part of me questions why I couldn't make any progress this year. On thing I am certain of ~ I won't gain any more back. It's time to go the other way! I want to be down 10-15 pounds by the end of these 88 days. That seems realistic for me.

Here's to us! Go for those 100 push-ups and completing your strength training program. Go for ONEderland! We both have it within us to do something great with our 88 days!
