Last Warm Day

Thursday, October 04, 2012

Today will be the last warm day before the bottom drops out. But I'm not putting my bike away for the winter; last winter, I found a few opportunities to get out on decent days, so I'm holding out hope that it will happen again this winter! Also, I am better at dressing for cold-weather rides, so I'm optimistic that I will still get a few rides in.

I hate talking about winter, but like it or not, it's coming, and I have to be ready. My options will be walks or runs (depending on my foot), indoor exercise at the gym, and snowshoeing. Dan got me a pair of snowshoes last Christmas, and then it only snowed 2x all winter! So yeah, I'm hoping for a lot more snow! Sorry to those of you who drive cars. ;) But seriously, I love snowshoeing. It is so fun, I could do it for hours and hours. And yet you burn calories! So I'm looking forward to that. There is a small hiking trail right behind my kids' school. If I go on a long excursion, I will have to go to a bigger place, and there is one a few miles north of here. I've been dreading winter ever since the water park closed, but now I'm getting kind of excited to go snowshoeing.

Yesterday was a bad day of eating. I rode 8 miles on my bike, but I had way too many cookies in the evening. There are still some cookies on the counter this morning, and I just want them to GO AWAY! I hope my kids wake up soon so I can feed them cookies for b-fast. I'm a terrible mother. :/

Just try snowshoeing and skiing or just outside hiking

Be thankful you have the option of winter sports. All we have is the opportunity to go out in the forty degree misting rain!

Make Today a Great Day!
