goals and milestones

As I sit here now, I've lost 30 lbs!!!! Woohoo! I now weigh 172 lbs. I have 20 lbs to go to my goal weight. 152 lbs for a 5'5" girl might seem too much, in fact it is still officially an "overweight" BMI, but I have a gigantic bone structure. My ribs and hip bones wouldn't ever let me in any clothes less than a size 6 (and really that is pushing it.... an 8 is probably my healthy lower limit). I have such big bones.... if I lived in a turn of the century prairie, I would probably be considered well built for farm work and birthing. lol. So.... 152 is actually not a modest goal.
So I'm 60% of the way there!!!!
My fitness is also going well. I ran 2.5 miles the day before yesterday without stopping! If this rain settles down, I plan to do the same today. On Sunday, we are running in the 4km side race to the Brussels Marathon. The 4km race is called the "ladies weekend run" which kind of cracks me up. There is a men's version too, and I think it is kind of weird that the races are segregated, but I think it will be interesting to be running just with women. I hear it is a tough race, and mostly uphill.
My 2.5 miles is taking me just under 30 minutes. My goal for the next 10 weeks is to add 3 minutes a week, so that in December, I will be jogging 60 minutes at a time. I think that is a reasonable goal.
