Fight with gall bladder

Wednesday, October 03, 2012

My gall bladder and I aren't getting along. I had an attack the other day. Very bad but I wouldn't go to the doctor. Probably not the best decision I know but I'm really nervous about it. Anyone go through this lately and have advice?

Hoping you feel better. I had my gall bladder removed like ten years ago. It's an easy operation. Your stomach will hurt as if you did a lot of situps. Hope this helps.

ouch big time...my mom had gall bladder problem, had horrible bad pains then feel for weeks they the pain (would late half hour to an hour), went to see the doctor and saw the stones and said she needed surgery to remove the stones ( the surgery is suposose to tuff and the healing time long and painful) and doctor say right away cause if you don't there will be complications and extra surgeries.

Well my mom didn't get the surgery cause she had several things goin on, they were traveling then thanksgiving and meanwhile she kepted getting more pain and got worst and longer.

well my dad had to have (can't remember if it was before Thanksgiving or after) so my mom put it off again. and of course it got worse.

well it ended up that what the doctor warned her about happened and she had emergency surgery (two surgerys) and then the gall bladder surgiery.

she told me it was the most worst pain ever and the gall bladder surgery was not that bad in compaired to the other surgeries she had to have. (My mom ened up having her surgeries before my dad did)

so go to the doctor and get checked out and don't do what my mom did. One surgery is bad enough you don't want extra surgeries cause you waited.

I hope you feel better soon, I saw how painful mom felt when she had an atact when she was visting me.... ouch and double ouch

I've had mine removed, and I can eat normally now with no pain whatsoever or special diet. It was outpatient surgery, I was at the surgery location at 6 am Friday and home and in bed by 11 am, back to work on Monday, full functional in 3 weeks. It truly was a godsend, because I was having episodes where I couldn't sleep for days due to the pain.

Oh Tricia! I'm so very sorry to hear this. I know gall bladder issues can be very painful .

I know it can be scary to not go to doctors, but sometimes we can take care of ourselves through dietary changes. I think gall bladder problems often can be solved by diet.

How you feel better soon. emoticon

Oh no. .. I am so sorry to hear that. My brother-in-law suffered with that quite often and had to stop eating fatty foods. I hope you feel some relief soon.

I'm so sorry you're dealing with your gallbladder. I know how painful attacks can be. Hopefully you can manage yours with diet changes. When I first joined SP I was having issues with mine. When I went to the doctor, he actually told me to eat LESS vegetables. emoticon emoticon I stopped eating raw broccoli and haven't had another attack. (Fingers crossed) Good luck. I hope you feel better soon.

So sorry you are going through this I have gallbladder issues also :( I have cut out fatty foods and that has seemed to help. Have you pin pointed what is triggering your attacks?
