Stepping challenges update

Wednesday, October 03, 2012

For the stepping challenge with Zannachan (consistency)

9/26 - 13,586
9/27 - 11,423
9/28 - 14,845
9/29 - 10,911
9/30 - 8,487
10/1 - 34,418
10/2 - 36,025

OK, now for the fun stuff, or more challenges updates.
1. The challenge of getting to 100,000 steps first starting 10/1 is over. Someone post over that amount yesterday morning, before I even got out of bed. Sigh.
2. The challenge of who can take the most steps from10/1 - 10/15 is still ongoing. We'll see how my team does overall when it's over.
3. Fall 500,000 step challenge... completed on 9/28.
4. 30 active minutes for 30 minutes a day for 30 days... 18 days and counting.

Because I was upset/depressed over someone beating me before I really had a chance to walk (that's one thing I HATE about that other site, it calculates everything by east coast time. Since I'm on the West Coast I will NEVER win one of those challenges for (insert # of steps) first, my loving husband made up a challenge just for me.
Step 1 ~ Take 75,000 steps (or more) by Friday evening when I leave for an overnight trip and he'll take me rock climbing on Sunday.
Step 2 ~ For every 1,000 steps I take between Monday 10/1 and Sunday morning when we go rock climbing I earn $1.00 towards new clothes, which I really need as most of my wardrobe is over 3 years old.
Step 3 ~ For every 5,000 steps From Monday 10/1 - Friday 10/5 (when I leave for my overnight trip) I earn an extra $1.00.

So as you can see I've really stepped up my stepping this week. We'll see if I can keep up the pace I've set (I'd really like to get to 150,000 steps by Friday night). There are a couple of challenges to this. First and foremost... my feet HURT from all that stepping. Then there is the fact that tomorrow I will be working the early shift because I have a dentist appointment after work. Now, the dentist visit if I get in right away shouldn't take long. The permanent cap has come in for the tooth that was worked on last week.

I apologize to my teams as I know I haven't been around much this week. Not like I'd planned anyway. Because if I'm online I'm not adding to my steps.

Plan for Freggie strong end. Make sure I get at least 1 - 2 fruit/vegetables with each meal. Stay in calorie range, write down (and track) everything I eat and continue getting as many steps as I'm able. Go rock climbing with DH on Sunday and then relax a bit before continuing on.

So.... did you get to go rock climbing *grin *

I still have to sit down and record/post my steps from last week... I'm running WAY behind at the moment but last week was kind of crazy.

So proud of you for keeping up the challenges! And I love your DH's personal challenge for you and the fact that you are going to be given money for clothes... waaay wonderful!

I would be out there high-stepping like a Rockette if someone made that deal with me. I would even be doing steps under my desk and while I am at the dentist!

Gee, really sounds like I would do anything for a buck! LOL! Good luck and please let us know how you are doing.

And you can also use these steps to participate in the Hiking Through Europe challenge that we are doing. It's quite fun and interesting to see how far we can make it in one week. And don't forget we have the weekly weigh-ins on Wednesday still. Hope you are able to join us!

Hugs,
Angela

Those time zones do suck, but I guess they have to pick something :( Great steps though!! Awesome hubby for his support and encouragement! I would have trouble stepping too, because of sore feet -pavement and me don't go well together! Can you do more of your steps on soft hiking trails or grassy areas? Might cut down on soreness for you. I know I can't tolerate hard surfaces for very long.
Good luck with it!
