Moffitt Visit

Wednesday, October 03, 2012

So today was results day at Moffitt. Not a good day at all. The tumor is once again growing and Pooh's platelets are only about 44,000. I nearly fell out of the chair when they said Hospice should be called in. No further treatment can be done and we will remain in a watch and see state of returning every 2 months for bloodwork only. Basically, his liver functions are beginning to deteriorate and it is only a matter of how much time it will take. They are saying that we should call in Hospice now for support.

I feel sick.

I am so sorry about this bad news that you have received. It really is impossible to be prepared for these moments. I know you will be strong though, even when you feel weak and "sick". I know that "sick" feeling, and it isn't nice, to say the least. Hospice is really a great support and they understand how hard this time is for everyone. Can you take a leave from work or school? Be sure to reach out to your family for support and know that your sparkfriends are praying for you and Pooh.
