This was shown on our tv station this morning by the news anchor who I knew had been fat as a young man growing up). It really brought to my attention the fact that bullying is a big problem..It has always been a problem and can remember the fattest kids in school being the brunt of most of the snide comments even back in the 50's and 60's...This woman news anchor is so right in her comments here...I think as most of us here that are overweight have been on the back end of these comments at one time in our lives..I would hope to think that we haven't been the ones to make the bullying remarks..

How someone faces their overweight problems is their own business and if a friend or family member is concerned about it, then they are the only ones that need to comment and in a loving way..This was so uncalled for for a perfect stranger to voice his opinions and especially voice them on email or facebook where it is viewed in the public eye..This young woman wound up having so many people backing her as well.

This brought to mind the woman who was supervising a bus of kids and they kept poking her and bullying her and teasing her and then posted on youtube..people were so outraged that they donated money to send to the woman so she could have a wonderful vacation..Sometimes events in our lives tend to change us for the better, lead to better things happening or make us dwell on issues so long that depression sets in..what we do with things we hear and things people say should lead us to make changes in our lives or try to change things for the better. I feel this young news anchor has done the right thing for airing her opinions on comments that were made to her personally..she has made this a public battle.

It can be rough sometimes, but doing right is always good.

My mother was insensitive about telling some family members they needed to lose weight. One time my sister and I weighted the same thin but I was the one that was overweight and back then I weighted at least 30 pounds less. When I did lose weight then I was too thin. I finally decided that Mother just had to make those remarks.

I saw this on the news today. Good for her. She is a intelligent lady. I'm so glad she spoke out, and the message she gave to the young people was wonderful. You never know why someone battles weight. It might be medical, it might be stress, it might be genetics. Both of my parents were thin for years. So was I, and my oldest Sister. The two Sisters in between us always battled weight. They ate the same foods I did, but for some reason they were over weight. For anybody to look at someone with one glance, and decide he knows all about that person is shallow.

I saw it on GMA this morning. During the interview she and her husband both mentioned health problems that made it difficult for her to lose weight and that she had been trying. I think her on air response was well stated. I was a little disappointed that shortly after her interview, they had an interview with a woman who had lost 200 pounds. Not the best timing, I thought.

Bullies are all to much found in this culture. I am glad she was able to stand tall against that bully.

I am so glad that she finally stood up publicly to that B*stard. I beilieve in free speech, but I personally believe that you do not have a right to bully someone using your words. emoticon

saw that last night on facebook and another SP team. Only difference between the two if one had her tormentors in front of her and the other one has no idea who he is
