What should I start with, the good news or the bad news? Let's start with the bad. The change in my routine and diet caused my to get a little constipated. This caused another flare up of my bowel issues. Still no lower body or core strength training this week :(. Restarted the meds I stopped on Monday. Maybe I stopped too soon on them.
Now the good news. I was able to withstand the temptation and stick to my plan at dinner last night. No ribs. No cornbread. I had a 1/4 chicken, baked potato with no butter and no sour cream but some hot sauce, and steamed veggies (yellow squash, zucchini, broccoli, and carrots). I did have one of the medium chicken wings when they ordered appetizers so I wasn't 100% successful but much better than I feared. I also had unsweetened ice tea instead of beer. It was good remembering the old times with my colleagues/friends. Some of them I have worked with since the beginning of my software development career in 98. We will still stay in touch on Facebook I am sure.
Yesterday I made a comment that the treadmill at the hotel seems more difficult than the treadmill at the gym I go to for the same incline and speed. I have a theory and let me know what you think. I always hold on to the rail so I can monitor my heart rate. The rail on this treadmill is waist high. The one at my gym is chest high. I think I may be making it easier on myself at the gym by holding on where this treadmill is making me work harder being lower. Any thoughts?
Today will be lunch in the cafeteria. I am planning on a salad and not sure if I will have half a sandwich or not. We will see.
