Boot camps, running, etc.

This morning was the 2nd day of this round of boot camp, and boy were my 8lb weights feeling heavy. I've known for a while that I needed to bump up from my 5lb weights, but finally did it and I can really feel the difference. I know I'm goint to be sore tomorrow morning! It feels good to be getting back into the pattern of boot camp though after a two weeks off. I feel so much more energized and better about myself. It's also amazing what it does for my motivation. I know if I eat crappy the night before, I'll feel crappy in class. So it really does help keep me on track.
Tomorrow will be my first day running since the 5k on Sunday. I invited a friend to come along with me. Not sure how much running she will want to do, as she's just starting to work on getting healthier, but even if we end up doing a 3 mile walk that will be nice too. :)
I've also decided I really need to find somewhere will hills to train for my next 5k, because my town is flat. One friend suggested weight weighted arm or leg bands, or a weighted backpack in leiu of running on hills. Has anyone tried this? Does it help with training for hills?
