It's Starting Again...

Tuesday, October 02, 2012

Well, the fall season is here and it's my favorite season of the year! But it comes with a price. I can feel the funk starting to come over me. I don't want to do things any more. I'm still doing them, but it's like dragging my body through a big pool of molasses - it takes every ounce of effort and I don't feel like I'm getting anywhere.

I'm sure part of it is how busy I am with work, school, house, working out, etc. And I'm sure the fact that my boss has been treating me like crap at work is another part of it. But I'm afraid it will get worse as winter comes creeping in.

Anyone out there successful in beating the seasonal blahs?

I'm going to repeat what KCREATIVESPIRIT said, increase your Vitamin D. I had mine tested and it was low. I've noticed a significant improvement in energy and mood since taking supplements. The other thing I would say is just go stand outside a few times a day. I know it's tough to pull yourself away from work, homework and all the other stuff but a 10 minute break in the sun will help too.

On the fitness front, are you signed up for any races next year?? Maybe signing up will give you some extra motivation and something to look forward to.

    Love ya girlie!

Ever had your Vitamin D levels checked? Sluggish energy as the light fades could be a deficiency. Some sun bulbs in the house or supplements can help.

Turn your workouts into a fun activity (dancing, hiking, biking, playng WII sports) that will give you something to look forward to. It aslo sounds like your super busy so make sure that you're scheduling your "me time" where you are scheduled to do anything but focus on you.

Hang in there. Hope it gets better.

Fall is a great season to cuddle up and drink warm drinks. But it is also a great season to get in some good fitness because even though we know the snow is coming soon, there is still some decent days to be outside.

Come up with a fitness goal to get you through the season. Like a push up goal, or chin ups. Or getting a certain number of miles in outside enjoying the temps before it turns super cold.

    Hang in there! emoticon

Get a good night's sleep, start your day with a healthy breakfast and then go for a cardio walk! Stay positive with your body, mind and spirit. Repeat daily! : )
