New things from today....

Tuesday, October 02, 2012

So DH had a touch of the flu (so I think) today. He wanted a couple of "comfort foods" which would be off limits for I did some running around and three stores later I found all of them and was on my merry way home. While shopping I did come across a three good finds for me. I don't grocery shop at Target, but today I found Yoplait light Pumpkin pie yogurt.....was pretty good. Think I will add some pumpkin pie spice to the next one. The second item was Archer Farms reduced fat Smoky Chipotle Cheddar kettle-cooked potato chips....I know that was a mouth full, but they are delicious....15 chips = 1 serving @ 120 calories. The third item was Dove silky smooth promise candies: they are sea salt caramel with dark chocolate.
When we were in Door County for a couple of days I came across some yummy fudge called "Twilight"....dark chocolate fudge with a layer of caramel sprinkled with sea salt.. I found this oh so 1/2" piece at a time. So you can see why when I found the Dove candies.....well ...they had my name on it. Lucky for me since switching to only dark chocolate almost 2 years ago I can have one piece and be satisfied...not sure why milk chocolate is so addictive, but for me it doesn't matter....I don't touch the stuff. Good thing most chocolate Halloween candy is milk chocolate. I also found a recipe book from Prevention there I found a recipe for my dinner..."Apple-Sausage Saute" Made with chicken sausage and Granny Smith apples...just happen to have those in house so I will be trying this.
Other than that I don't have much to say. DH is feeling a bit better now that he had his Campbell's chicken noodle soup with oyster crackers and his marshmallow pinwheel cookies.
Thanks for stopping by and hugs to all. Hope you have a good night/day....

Your apple-sausage dinner sounds divine. I haven't worked on developing a taste for dark chocolate, but seeing that you aren't addicted to it, I might try it. I can't have milk chocolate in the house--it seems to evaporate [and wind up on my hips!]

Thanks for your kind and supportive comments on my blog.

Love dark chocolate. Add Carmel and it's even better.

I do hope that DH feels better soon. Now don't you get sick. We all have days when we are tired, stressed, and feeling a tad under appreciated, under loved, and definitely un-welcomed. That is where I stand. I will be glad when the housing people finds me a place to live. I had to go that route because with all the oil and gas guys working here getting all the apartments at double and triple the price, the cost, it is hard to find a place to live.

I haven’t tried the pumpkin pie yogurt, but it sounds pretty good. I hope you don’t catch the bug your husband has and that he feels better soon.

Oh my gosh! PuMPKIN YOGURT! Right up my alley. Ok, now gonna have to scout that out here.

Marshmallow pinwheels. Shades of my childhood! Yipers! I can't imagine how sweet they would seem to me now.

Glad your DH is feeling better. There are soooooooo many germs floating around right now. Looks to be a very, very, very long Winter!!!

Milk chocolate . . . LOTS of sugar . . . sugar addictive . . . cravings! Dark chocolate . . . richer, not much sugar, so you're satisfied with a LITTLE. I used to love milk chocolate too. BUT dark chocolate it is when I have that "gotta have it" chocolate urge.

Hmmmm.... sounds like an interesting combo . . . dark chocolate, caramel and sea salt!

HUGS and sending heatlhy vibes your way that YOU don't get the flu!

Marshmallow pinwheel cookies, why oh why did you have to mention those. When I read that, I swear on a stack of bibles, my mouth started watering and my stomach started growling. I use to eat those by the truckload. They are soooooo expensive. I mean compared to Chip Ahoy or those. I was walking down the cookie aisle the other day when I heard psst psst buy me buy me and I kept on walking. Why do they put Fiber One bars with cookies? That is just wrong.

I am glad that DH is feeling better. I am going to have to look for the pumpkin yogurt. Probably just out for Halloween and Thanksgiving. I hope your dinner was good.

You are making my hungry describing all the good food you came across today. Hope your DH feels better but sounds like you have made great choices. I want to look for the pumpkin yogurt, I read about it on my Hungry Girl email but haven't found it yet. We don't have a Target up here in the mountains!!!!

    Thanks for sharing!!
