Week 4 Day 1 C25K

Tuesday, October 02, 2012

Wow...that was tough. I huffed and I puffed and I....never stopped.

I started the 4th week of C25K today and even though I wasn't able to do the 3 minute jogging intervals 4 times, I came pretty close. Sometimes I would do 1 minute jogging, 1 minute walking, and then jog the other minute. Sometimes I could jog 2 minutes and walk 1 minute...and sometimes, I could jog the entire 3 minutes as planned.

But when it really comes down to it, I did 1.62 miles in 25 minutes. Not too shabby for a woman who couldn't jog barely jog for 30 seconds 1 month ago.

It's all about the baby steps and I am still proud about my progress. If I need to repeat this week of training I will. I'll do one step at a time, one minute at a time...until I reach my goal!
Never give up!

Keep Sparkin'

    Good job!

I remember when I did the C25K program I had to slow down a lot in order to run for the longer run segments. It also took me a lot more than 9 weeks to complete the program as I was redoing weeks that I struggled with several times.

The slower one runs, the longer one can run usually.

Do you use a heart rate monitor? This really helps me also if I purposely keep my heart rate at or below a certain number, I have enough oxygen to run longer distances.

that a girl, proud of you! you can do it and yes sometimes we do have to repeat weeks to progress and stay healthy. i am not sure what pace you are running at but you may want to slow down a little on your runs and walks, that is what i did and it got much easier to push thru

That's awesome! I went through runs like this when I did C25K. It's all part of the experience. Hang in there, keep running, listen to your body, and get ready to celebrate FINISHING! You're almost there!
