I'M TRYING !!! I'VE BEEN ON SP A LITTLE OVER A MONTH, DOING WELL. WEEKENDS ARE ROUGH. THIS PAST WEEKEND I DID MUCH BETTER. GOAL FOR THIS MONTH IS TO START EXERCISING. I'M A LITTLE LONELY DOING THIS BY MYSELF. I'M SPENDING ALOT OF TIME PLANNING MY MEALS, WHICH I KNOW WILL GET EASIER. I'M USED TO CARING FOR EVERYONE ELSE, AND NOW I'M CARING FOR MYSELF. IN A WAY I FEEL SELFISH BUT THEN I ALSO KNOW THIS IS IMPORTANT TO ME, AND IT'S TIME TO LOVE MYSELF AS MUCH AS I LOVE MY FAMILY. TILL NEXT TIME......

    Here's a few things I've found things that help me stay in calorie range, but keep my protein where it needs to be (when I let my protein get too low I tend to feel wore out and have headaches):
Fruit and whey protein smoothies
scrambled eggs with veggies
Boiled eggs
Chicken breast--especially grilled on a "George Foreman" and then topped with salsa
Greek yogurt--twice the protein as regular! I like to get plain and add fruit and a touch of honey or stevia.

Fruits and veggies are your friends! Try stirfry with brown rice, cut up fruits for snacks, etc. I keep frozen fruits (strawberries, blueberries, mixed fruits) in my freezer for quick smoothies and in my yogurt.

You can do it! I have a big family and while these teens go through a lot of food, I've found ways to either sub healthier stuff for us all or arrange our meals so I have options that don't make me feel alone. Having the foods I listed above for my "backup plan" when they are chowing down on stuff that would blow my calorie range away is a lifesaver for me.

    LOOKS LIKE IM HAVING A SMALL ISSUE. I'VE FOUND ALOT OF HEALTHY FOOD TO EAT BUT NOW IM HAVING PROBLEMS EATING ENOUGH FOOD TO GET MY CALORIES AND PROTEIN HIGH ENOUGH. LOL. I GO FROM ONE EXTREME TO ANOTHER. I KNOW I JUST NEED TO FIND THE RIGHT BALANCE. I LOVE EGG WHITES, BUT A WOMAN CAN ONLY EAT SO MANY EGG WHITES IN ONE DAY. LOL I ALSO AM NOT GETTING CLOSE TO GETTING ENOUGH FIBER, SO I WILL NEED TO CHECK OUT FIBER SUPPLEMENTS OF SOME SORT. BESIDES ALL THAT, IM FEELING PRETTY GOOD! THE SUPPORT I'VE GOTTEN FROM SPARK FRIENDS CERTAINLY SAVED THE DAY. emoticon

    WELL NOW ! YESTERDAY I WAS DOWN AND A LITTLE BLUE. "BUT" THAT DID NOT LAST LONG. I HAVE TO ADMIT I WAS OVERWHELMED WITH JOY BY THE RESPONSE OF PEOPLE THAT DIDNT KNOW ME BUT CARED ENOUGH TO PICK ME UP. I COULD GIVE EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU A BIG HUG! THIS EXPERIENCE ALSO GAVE ME A NEW OUTLOOK ON MY JOURNEY AND THAT I'M NOT ALONE. I KNOW I CAN DO THIS! JUST KNOW IT'S MORE LIKE I WANT TO DO THIS AND I WANT TO WORK HARDER AT IT, AND IM GOING TO ENJOY THE CHALLENGES THAT ARE IN MY PATH. Sincerely TO ALL, THANK YOU.     Sounds like you are doing this for all the right reasons. I am also "alone" as my children left my nest a while ago. But like you mentioned in an earlier comment...we are truly not alone as long as we have friends who are there to support us. Welcome to Spark!

Come up with a plan that works for you. Don't exercise because you feel you HAVE to. Do it because you WANT to. Find something you enjoy and make that part of your workout. For example, I love dancing so I dance 20-30 minutes a day and believe me that is a good cardio workout!

Depending on where you live, get and walk if you are able while the weather is good.

Just remember...it's all up to you. You've made a great start. Keep it up!

    Welcome to SP! As you progress, you will find that this is an amazing site. It's filled with incredibly supportive people. Take it in small steps. You are not alone. There are many groups that you can join, teams with challenges, and in general, many places where you can ask any questions as they arise.

    WHEN COOKING DO BATCH COOKING AND FREEZE MEALS AND THEN ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS HEAT THEM UP.
EXERCISE I GO TO BED A LITTLE EARLIER TO GET UP EARLIER AND EXERCISE RIGHT AFTER BREAKFAST THAT WAY THEY ARE DONE NO RXCUSES. WHAT EVER WORKS FOR YOU GO FOR IT YOU ARE WORTH IT.
REMEMBER TO TRACK DAILY YOUR FOOD AND FITNESS TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE.
