It's going to get better....

Monday, October 01, 2012

OK. Not quite there yet. Overwhelmed. Family stuff. Friend who just lost her dad. Another who just broke her leg. Appointments and previously made commitments also feeling like they are draining me.

We are getting the kitten tomorrow evening. And NOTHING on my calendar for next week. I am hoping by then I can pull it together. Right now, just taking the time to plan a meal is too much. I made a huge pot of soup over the weekend, and we have eaten it for the past couple of days. Hubby was even in the kitchen cutting up fruit today (I don't think in 25 years I have ever seen him do that....he pretends he is normally culinarily challenged if I am in the house!)

I will be fine. I keep reminding myself. That this too, shall pass....

I'll give you my favourite mantra too... one by one, day by day, inhale, exhale, that's the way. One step at a time and all of a sudden this overwhelming rush will be behind you. Hope you can find some peaceful moments for yourself. CJ

One of my favorite quotes, " Tough times don't last, tough people do." You will get through it, just take one step at a time.

OH it will, glad hubby is there and your new kitten. Man we are in similar boats although mine is easier in diff. ways. We are renovating our basement to move dad in, okay, till hubby got way behind on renos, ( doing it all ourselves), arguing with dad on throwing anything out ( even down to expired meds that were mums!!! had to get a bit mean there and tell him she wasn't coming back to take her vit d and I wouldn't let her cos they are expired) I understand elder grief and moving etc. but he knows he is going to our basement and how can we take all hs stuff. omg then the even bigger issue is he smokes, I will not allow it in my house. I get sick, choke, fill up almost vomit. When at his house for even a bit have to come home and change all my clothes even underwear and he doesnt care. But then why would I expect diff as he smoked in the apt when mum had oxygen... so that is a huge thing as he seems to think he is, that we are changing our insurnace ( which we will cos I know I will lose this battle once it gets cold out)
So hugs cos yours is so much sadder and harder... and know that the kitten will help. COS
I know that our new puppy that should be here soon will help us, as we put our 11 year old dog down in Aug.
HUGS and lots of caring from way over on the eastern shore of Canada!
